on a chilly, crisp day, the best way to warm up
is with a big mug
of hot apple cider, with a cinnamon stick for stirring.
sit outside, the fire-toned leaves blowing above.
just try it. you’ll see.
the cool breezes blow, and you catch a whiff of the apple-scented warmth clutched in your hands, and smile to yourself, calm.
apple cider does things hot chocolate could never dream of doing.
its tangy bitterness on your tongue
makes you feel fresh, awake, renewed.
apple cider is not to be chugged.
like a fine wine, it is to be sipped sparingly, sophisticatedly.
taking the time to enjoy its sweetness
will cause feelings of relaxation, peace.
just try it. you’ll see.
